We hope your time in Paris was both academically and personally fulfilling.

For some of us, however, the transition home can be challenging, whether you’re in Paris for a semester or the whole year. Just like you may have experienced some culture shock while adjusting to life in Paris, similarly returning to the familiar can feel confusing and frustrating. Because it is usually so unexpected, “reverse culture shock” can lead to a range of feelings and emotions. So here are some some tips to help you understand the changes you may be experiencing.

One of the best ways to deal with the effects of reverse culture shock is to reflect on your experience abroad and process it by sharing it with others and writing about it. We are eager to hear about your experiences this past semester (really!) .
